KHPS Robotics Programs

More Than Robots
Picture
The robotics programs at Kenowa exist to further students' education in STEM fields and encourage them in becoming leaders in their fields and enhance their life skills. Currently, the robotics programs consist solely of Kenowa Hills High School students but we are hoping in the future to expand to include Middle School students as well.

Our Programs

FIRST Robotics

Visit Site
Under strict rules, limited resources, and the guidance of volunteer mentors including engineers, teachers, business professionals, parents, alumni and more, teams of students have just six weeks to build and program robots to perform challenging tasks against a field of competitors. They must also raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and perform community outreach in the off-season. In addition to learning valuable STEM and life skills, participants are eligible to apply for $25+ million in college scholarships.

VEX Robotics

Visit Site
In the VEX Competitions, presented by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation, teams of students are tasked with designing and building a robot to play against other teams from around the world in a game-based engineering challenge. Classroom STEM concepts are put to the test on the playing field as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership, communications, and more. Tournaments are held year-round at the regional, state, and national levels; local champions go on to compete against the best in the world at VEX Worlds each April!

SeaPerch

Visit Site
SeaPerch is an innovative underwater robotics program that equips teachers and students with the resources they need to build an underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) in an in-school or out-of-school setting. Students build the ROV from a kit comprised of low-cost, easily accessible parts, following a curriculum that teaches basic engineering and science concepts with a marine engineering theme.
